    Hi Rahul,

How are you? I’m from Australia, I’m working on a computer issue and I found old forum comments by you that made me think you might be able to help me. Way back in 2012 you posted about your problems with installing XP from a USB on this website:

Howto install Windows XP from USB Drive?

I’m having exactly the same problems you were having. Your last post says you have solved all your problems by “changing the source CD”. Could you possibly explain to me exactly what you mean by that? Because I’ve hit the same bluescreen problem you hit and I can’t get past it. So I’m hoping to try your solution but I don’t know quite what you mean.

Thanks very much and I’m hoping you have an excellent memory?!

      :( I don’t!

Let me try to recreate it, though.

Got it! I used a different CD. I was using an OEM CD from Dell. I used a different one that a friend had got from the internet.

      Windows XP ROCKS! Even today!

Thanks. So you got past the bluescreen error by changing the source files CD that you had copied onto the USB?

Interesting, I’ll have to try that. I obtained my source files off an original MS Windows XP CD, and then used Nlite to remove some XP features I didn’t want, and then copied those onto the USB. I will have to try changing my source files.

So have lived in Kerala? I went to university with someone whose family was from Kerala, although I think they were actually born in Australia.

    thanks for your help
