The Yahoo Bar that scrolls. AKA, My Darling Yahoo! is Dying.

Screen shots pasted here as cannot email them to Yahoo customer care and cannot also explain my problem.

Check the Folders and the Bar.

The Red boxed are only to mask the names of my folders.

Similarly, ignore the black boxes. These are only to, what Dell calls, Scrub the Data.

This is the entire hole. Still open for me. :-( My Darling yahoo is DYING!

Hello Rhea.

I have explained the problem in the screenshots as well, highlighting /
marking
the relevant areas.

One shan’t be able to replicate it using a 24″ or 27″ Mac or such a high

resolution screen.

Try it on a normal 18″ or 20″ LCD or CRT and you shall see what I mean.

Hello Quinn.

No. I do not want to go to classic.

My grouse is what can be corrected by, potentially, a small code change.

I really fail to understand that why am I getting canned responses.

I am afraid that some of the support personnel don’t even bother to read
the
emails and just copy-paste the ‘resolutions’.

No one trying to understand what I want to say, even though I have
pasted screen
shots for you guys, here.
https://rahuldoes.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/the-yahoo-bar-that-scrolls/

For the record, I want to stay with my current version of Yahoo email.

Not the classic.

Not the new one.

The current.

Hello Rahul,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! India.

I understand that you prefer to use the older version of Yahoo! Mail. I

In order to make this change to your account, I will need your written

email with the following information:

1. Please confirm that you would like me to switch your account to
Yahoo! Mail Classic.

2. Please let us know why you would like to switch. We’re eager to

Hello Bridgette.

Thanks for the information.

If that is the case then I am afraid that I shan’t be switching over to
the new

and
hollering on top of my voice.

And please register this as a protest email from me.

Hello There, Quinn!

That was impressively close to complete comprehension.

Thew way that you suggest, to tell the application to treat the two
panes
independently should do the trick.

However, as my original issue does not coincide with the one that you
mentioned,
I have my misgivings for the solution.

Also, my point is depicted at the web-page that I have made for
assisting you.

https://rahuldoes.wordpress.com/2011/07/07/the-yahoo-bar-that-scrolls/

I understand I might not be able to send you attachments of the screen

this email address of yours.

Please take a look at the web page and get back to me if it makes sense.

Hello Rahul,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! India.

I beleive that your issue is about scrolling in a page with you Yahoo!
Mail. I am sorry for the inconvenience that it has caused you. Let me
check this issue for you.

We have changed the way scrolling works in your inbox. Previously, the
Inbox and the left navigation bar were treated as individual panels, so
that when you scrolled down, the left panel stayed in place. However,
the new default is that when you scroll down, the whole page moves.

If you prefer to use the previous design, you can change the setting in
your preferences. To do this, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account

2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select “Options” | “More
Options.” At the top of the page, you will see two options next to
“Scroll”.

3. Select “Each panel on the page individually.” You can also change the
number of emails that display at a time.

4. Click “Save changes” in the upper left corner.

If same issue persists, please do not hesitate to contact us again
providing the information that we need to give you appropriate and
resolution on your concern. We will be more than happy to assist you and
provide the support that you deserve.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! India.

Regards,

Quinn

Hello Rhea.

No. You do not understand the issue.

And there was nothing that you have done to replicate the issue.

Please read my email. READ, not just look/glance at it and paste a ready
answer.

Get back to me in case you need additional inputs and/or the
screenshots, again.

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! India.

I understand you are having difficulty with your Yahoo! mail account. I
apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you.

I’ve tried to replicate the issue you have described, and I was unable
to do so from my browser. Based on the information within your email,
I’d like to offer a few troubleshooting steps that you can try from your
computer. I realize that the information below can be long and technical
but, I want to make sure I am providing you with the necessary
information up front. If these steps do not resolve your issue, please
reply to this email so I can continue to troubleshoot the issue for you.

A. Disable Internet Browser Add-ons/Plug-ins

Each Internet browser comes with optional upgrades or enhancements
commonly known as “add-ons” or “plug-ins.” These features make your
Internet browser more useful & certain add-ons or plug-ins can
potentially cause issues with Yahoo! Mail.

To find out if this is the case, please try one of the following tasks
for your specific browser: common uses include (but aren’t limited to)
Toolbars, News or Stock Tickers, Instant Messaging, Weather alerts,
Email alerts, Anti-virus/Anti-spy, or Games.

If you’re running Internet Explorer 6.0:

1. Close out of all instances of the Internet Explorer Internet browser.

2. Select “Start.”

3. Select “Settings.”

4. Click “Control Panel.”

5. Double-click “Internet Options.”

6. Select the “Advanced” tab.

7. Under “Browsing,” clear the “Enable third-party Internet browser
extensions (requires restart)” checkbox.

8. Relaunch your Internet browser.

If you’re running Internet Explorer 7.0:

1. Close out of all instances of the Internet Explorer Internet browser.

2. Select “Start,” “Settings,” then click “Control Panel.”

3. Double-click on “Internet Options.”

4. Select the “Advanced” tab.

5. Under “Browsing,” remove the “Enable third-party Internet browser
extensions” checkbox.

6. Relaunch the Internet Explorer Internet browser.

If you’re running Internet Explorer 8.0:

1. Click “Tools,” and select “Internet Options.”

2. Click the “Advanced” tab on the right.

3. Under “Browsing,” remove the “Enable third-party browser extensions”
checkbox.

4. Click “OK” and close out of all instances of Internet Explorer.

5. Relaunch Internet Explorer.

If you’re running Internet Explorer 9.0:

1. Click “Tools,” and select “Manage Add-Ons.”

– A list of enabled Add-ons will appear in the list on the right.

2. To disable an Add-on, highlight the Add-on, and at the bottom of the
pop-up, click “Disable.”

3. Close and restart the Internet Explorer browser.

B. Clearing your Cookies and Cache

We’ve found that clearing your cookies and cache usually takes care of a
lot of issues. When you need to clear your cache, follow the
instructions below for your browser and version.

Internet Explorer 6.x for Windows:

1. Choose “Internet Options” from IE’s Tools menu.

2. Click the “Delete Cookies” button, and choose “OK” when prompted.

3. Click the “Delete Files” button, and select to “Delete all offline
content.”

4. Click “OK” when prompted.

5. In the bottom right corner of the Internet Options page, click the
“Clear History” button, and choose “OK” when prompted.

6. Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.

7. Close and restart your browser.

Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows:

1. Choose “Internet Options…” from IE’s Tools menu.

2. Click on “Delete” under “Browsing History.”

3. Click on “Delete All” at the bottom, and choose “OK” if prompted.

4. Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.

5. Close and restart your browser.

Internet Explorer 8.0 for Windows:

1. Choose “Internet Options…” from IE’s Tools menu.

2. Click on “Delete” under “Browsing History.”

3. Place a check in the “Temporary Internet Files,” “Cookies” and
“History” checkboxes

4. Click the “OK” button at the bottom of the Internet Options window.

5. Close and restart your browser.

Internet Explorer 9.0 for Windows:

1. Select “Tools” and then click “Internet Options.”

2. Under “Browsing History,” click “Delete.”

3. Be sure the boxes next to “Temporary Internet Files” and “Cookies”
are selected.

4. Click “Delete” at the bottom of the pop-up window.

Note: This is located to the left of the “Cancel” button, which is
highlighted by default.

5. Close and restart your browser.

C. Temporarily disable Anti-virus/Anti-spy and Firewall Products

Maybe one of your security applications, such as your antivirus,
anti-spyware, or firewall products, is causing a problem with your
Yahoo! Mail. To see if this is the problem, please temporarily disable
your security software to see if the issue goes away.

1. For most security software products, you can right-click on the
security software icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen, by the
system clock. This will usually pop up a menu with “Preferences” or
“disable” as an option.

2. Try to change one of those options to see if the issue goes away.

PLEASE NOTE: In some cases, you might not be able to completely disable
the security software. The directions for each security software package
differ from vendor to vendor. If you need help, please get in touch with
your security software vendor or computer Help desk.

If you’re still unable to use Yahoo! Mail after trying these
troubleshooting steps, please reply to this message and I can continue
to investigate. Please include detailed information about the steps you
tried, the results of each step, the exact text of any error messages,
etc. Also, please let us know if you have experienced this issue on any
other browser and/or computer. This information will help me look
further into the situation and will hopefully help resolve the issue for
good.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! India.

Regards,

Rhea

Hello Bridgette,

Thanks for the reply and and your efforts on the matter.

Attached are the screenshots and the problem/behaviour, highlighted.

I am changing the email address from which I originally requested
support, from
my Gmail to the Yahoo address, as asked. The subject line is the same
and I
really hope that the email reaches you, Bridgette.

You have understood my issue.

Thanks for the clarification for the disposable addresses. I had read
somewhere
that all the disposable addresses shall be removed and be later
re-introduced as
a Premium Feature. I can try to find that news article, if you say so.

Please feel free to get in touch with me for any further clarifications
on the
“automatically-going-to-the-top” scroll bar in the folder section of
Yahoo! Mail
issue.

Yours truly,

Ra.
